Affiliated to the Department of Communication and media Studies, the work of the Subprogramme in Media Studies is closely connected to the research and teaching activities of the Department. One of the youngest in the Doctoral Section of Literary and Cultural Studies, the Subprogramme attracts students with a record of undergraduate and graduate research in the Department’s talent management schemes, as well as former students who graduated years ago but seek new intellectual challenges while keeping their job. The community spirit among our students is reinforced by the inspiring atmosphere and intellectual liveliness of our various workshop activities.
Students deciding to join us can choose from a wide range of research topics and approaches within the field of communication and media studies. • the examination of cultural transfers, appropriations and reappropriations;
• the analysis of organisational cultures from a public relations perspective;
• media archaeology and the history of lyrical poetry;
• the analysis of mass cultural narratives conceived as media culture;
• the investigation of artefacts in different medial environments (adaptations, transmedial storytelling etc.);
• the media studies examination of contemporary artistic trends;
• ludology and gamification.
